I'm also trying to ignore the bug bites that have planted themselves all around my legs and neck area (an unfortunate byproduct of a 4th of July spent at the local fairground watching fireworks). Small price to pay for spending Independence Day at a fairground by the lake.
But that is all background information for the main point of this post, which is, what the heck Syracuse? Why are the streets so confusing? I am guessing it is a byproduct of European colonialism (which was remedied as everyone started moving further West) but the streets here are not built on a grid. I will be walking on E. Genesee, where I live and then it will fork off into two separate entities, one which will lead to a small subsidiary street that will only last a couple of blocks and the other will continue as E. Genesee. Or how E. Genesee and W. Genesee are two completely different streets.
Or how there are certain street corners with no street signs. Or how University Ave and University Place, all which are located on the Syracuse campus are not the same street. For a town that is so small, you would think they would not skimp on the street names.
Navigating the east coast is confusing. Though the Mac labs at Newhouse are fantastic.
